Sergio Clemente – The Brazilian script connoisseur!

Published: Apr 23, 2022

Hey, everyone! Sergio Clemente is here.
That’s Life, eh…
I’ve been a shark, a shame, a screenwriter, a sea rover, a shabby, and a sardine.
I’ve been lost and found over and out.
I know spec tricks.
Each time, I find myself writing some scripts “The Painting, The Idiot Box, I just can’t stop loving you, The God’s Voice, Evolution, Rosebud (new slang)” for the grace.
I just pick myself stand up and get back in the race.
That’s Life, eh…
That’s Life as you say it and as you need.
And If you don’t look for me…
I’m gonna roll myself up in a rug and die.
My, my…

I started my artistic career as a novelist. I’m the author of two fiction novels: Get with me on this”. I also wrote three interesting synopses for the new series: Paramount Justice * Rival Sisters * The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, and The Money.

I’m a professor, screenwriter, script consultant and able to write trilogies and give my characters the depth necessary to make them unforgettable. I wrote a script of fiction that tells the story of Mercedes-Benz’s “Evolution”. Nowadays, I created a supernatural character to give sequence to a feature film with the plot set in New York.

I can play my imagination in an intricate way to create a beautiful environment around the characters that are so real and able to connect with simply reflects in my screenwriting.

Okay, guys… time to entertain you with the “All about me” part of my narrative.

In (2003) I was unemployed for over a year. (… I’ve been lost and found over and out.) Difficult times for me and millions of people who were also on the same page. I had been looking for a job so long that I had practically given up on getting one. At that time I used to hang out going to the libraries.

And one of those days (… I’ve been a shark, a shame, screenwriter, sea-rover, a shabby and a sardine.) I took a book off the shelf at random, sat in a chair, and left it on the table without looking at it. I was completely rosebud (rosebud is a new slang created by me that means: sad, sadness, melancholy, upset)… And I began to review my life until I got to where I was…

“ Damn! What is it that got me where I am? Where is it that life took me? I chose the wrong course in college… Lost my job and my girlfriend broke up with me… I’m a big F…a loser. I don’t have money to pay my bills, I don’t have money to pay for my apartment, even some bucks to get a beer or to go to the cinema.”

Houston… We have a problem here… I was in the dog house. So I put my senses in the right way again and went to check the book that I had taken from the shelf. And then, I was run over by the book “Four Screenplays by Syd Field”. I read the entire book that same day and automatically, I was absolutely sure that I wanted to be a screenwriter. Of course that I looked for other wonderful authors and I caught the knowledge of all of them to shape my mind. But Syd Field remained in my head and a few years later he would become my mentor.
I have great memories of that year (2007) when he came to Brazil. Syd Field was so considerate with everyone… He signed one of your books for me “The screenwriter’s workbook”. Sometimes I hear someone say that he’s “dated”. I don’t care too much about it… An author’s (artist’s) legacy will always be important to somebody. R.I.P Mr. Syd Field.

One day, I know that I’ll be “dated” to someone else too. But, in the middle of the world, in the middle of the street, in the middle of an unknown heart, I’ll also leave you my legacy.

That’s Life, eh…
